Art Platform Asia is a non-profit organisation that aims to generate insightful discussions essential to understanding the evolving course of Asian contemporary art and its inherent attributes. To this end we keenly observe the specific contents of art in different regions of Asia and listen to their range of narratives.
We acknowledge that our title represents the incredibly diverse breadth of “Asian Art”. The recognition of diversity within the Asian art communities stimulates APA’s motivation to learn and observe individual artistic practices, processes and perspectives of contemporary Asia. In our meetings, forums, events and exhibitions, artistic minds can enter a dialogue with one another that provides a fertile ground for comparison. With comparison comes great complexity, which is something that we highly value. APA hopes to connect the public to this level of understanding on contemporary Asian art.
We believe that simply appreciating the existence of diverse narratives is an incredibly meaningful contribution to society and the world.
